This newly announced event will see a full orchestra performing the music from the films based on. the musical alongside the screening of both films.
It has been announced that a live concert presentation of both Wicked and Wicked: For Good will be taking place. Further details including dates and venue for the concert have yet to be announced.
The music includes the original songs with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz as well as the original film score by John Powell and Schwartz.
The first film based on the musical was released in 2024, with Wicked: For Good following in November last year.
Wicked the musical is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, in turn based on The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Both films were directed by Jon M Chu and starred Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey.
The stage production first premiered on Broadway in 2003 before opening in London’s West End in 2006. It continues to run at both the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway and the Apollo Victoria Theatre in the West End.
