Picking up from where the last list left off, it is time to reveal numbers nine to one in Love London Love Culture’s pick of Disney songs.
9. Circle of Life (The Lion King): even more awe inspiring on stage, this song perfectly sets up and captures everything that The Lion King is about: life, death and responsibility.
8. Beauty and the Beast: this theme song is so beautiful and wistful that it is another song that you know from the opening note exactly which song it is. It comes also in the perfect moment in the film and is full of style and elegance.
7. The Bare Necessities (The Jungle Book): who doesn’t love the idea of bear singing and dancing his way around the jungle? The song perfectly captures the carefree nature of Baloo the bear and his attitude towards life.
6. Once Upon a Dream (Sleeping Beauty): although the film was reportedly not one of Disney’s favourites or did particularly well at the box office when it was originally released, its music is full of romance and wistfulness that it is hard not to like.
5. When You Wish Upon a Star (Pinocchio): if there is one song that is most commonly associated with Disney and captures everything that the Disney cooperation stands for it is this song that is sung by a cricket in the film. It has been covered a lot because so many people can relate to it – who doesn’t want their wish to come true?

Prince Ali (Aladdin): let’s face it everybody watches Aladdin mainly for Robin Williams fantastic performance as the Genie and provides two great performances in the songs ‘A Friend Like Me’ and this one ‘Prince Ali’ – in which he provides a number of different voices that makes this song so memorable and enjoyable even today.
3. Let’s Go Fly a Kite (Mary Poppins): a cheerful and chirpy song that has you skipping around from beginning to end, it is the perfect song to end a wonderful and joyful live action film!
2. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (Mary Poppins): there is something utterly irrisistable about this song – whether it is the word itself or the catchy tune or the way in which it is able to fit into the film easily this song is easy to hum along to happily.
1. A Friend Like Me (Aladdin) – this song is absolutely brilliant and unforgettable and is the ultimate classic Disney song in this list: it captures all the best things about Disney: friendship, energy and being ultimately a catchy song that sticks in the mind long after the film has finished!
