It has been announced that Lucy Kay, runner up on Britain’s Got Talent 2014 will be starring alongside Joe McElderry in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from the 26th January.

Bill Kenwright’s production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice classic musical will be heading off on tour from the 26th January.

Starring X Factor winner Joe McElderry as Joseph and Lucy Kay as the Narrator, full casting for the production has yet to be announced.

Lucy Kay’s debut album ‘Fantasia’ shot straight to number one in the classical album chart in 2014, following her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. After becoming runner up in the television competition, she also recorded the song ‘Flower of Scotland’ with the band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Royal Navy. Lucy was also a special guest on Andrea Bocelli’s 2014 tour.

Meanwhile, the previously announced Joe McElderry was just 18 when he shot to fame by winning the sixth series of  The X Factor, going on to release four albums – with a fifth in the pipeline.

This new retelling of the biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and of course the coat of many colours, makes it a firm family favourite thanks to its score that is filled with songs such as ‘Jacob and Sons’ and ‘Any Dream Will Do’.

Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dream will be heading to venues across the country including dates in Blackpool, Oxford, Leeds, Manchester, York, Northampton and Glasgow.
