Qdos Entertainment has announced that for the first time in nearly thirty years they will be bringing pantomime back to the heart of theatreland and the London Palladium.
The London Palladium’s new pantomime will be a magical production of the classic Cinderella will transform the theatre into a family extravaganza, featuring sets that will be especially made for the venue.
Placed right at the heart of the West End, the London Palladium became iconic for its pantomimes which ran every year from 1948-1987, attracting some of the biggest stars such as Julie Andrews, Peter Sellers and Cilla Black.
This new production will run at the venue for five weeks only from the 9th December until the 15th January 2017.
Qdos Entertainment Chairman Nick Thomas said: “Given the rich history of the London Palladium, where galaxies of top entertainers have appeared in traditional family pantomime, Qdos Entertainment is greatly honoured to have been invited to stage Cinderella at this iconic theatre.”
Cinderella will be directed by the producer of West End successes Gypsy, The Bodyguard and Mrs Henderson Presents, Qdos Entertainment’s managing director Michael Harrison, and the multi-award-winning Andrew Wright whose recent West End choreographic credits have include Mrs Henderson Presents, Singin’ In The Rain and Follies In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Casting for the production will be announced soon, with tickets for the production going on sale at 10am on the 15th April.
