Here’s a guide to some of the biggest films to be released this month…
The Running Man: this thriller based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King (under the name of Richard Bachman), is co-produced and directed by Edgar Wright, who co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall. Set in the near future, the story takes place in in a game show called The Running Man, which puts contestants against a team of murderous Hunters whose job is to track them down and kill them. Any runner who can stay alive for 30 days wins the grand prize of $1 billion. The cast is led by Glen Powell and William H. Macy and Josh Brolin.
Jay Kelly: having had its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival last month, Jay Kelly follows the story of a famous film star as he undergoes a journey of self discovery, accompanied by his devoted manager Ron. you can catch up with our review here. The film stars George Clooney and Adam Sandler.
Wicked: For Good: the second part of the big screen adaptation of the hit musical is finally heading to cinema screens on the 21st November. The film will reveal what happens to all the familiar characters as well as featuring new songs that have been written especially for the film! Theatre fans rejoice!
Zootopia 2: following on from the 2016 film, the long awaited sequel is finally here, allowing us to catch up with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on their adventures as police officers as they go undercover to puruse Zootopia’s new and mysterious reptilian resident Gary De’Snake.
The Thing With Feathers: Benedict Cumberbatch stars in this film adaptation based on Max Porter’s book ‘Grief is the Thing With Feathers’. Set to be released later this month, it is a story that follows a dad who is left unexpectedly widowed and struggling to to raise his children and deal with his grief. Having premiered at at the Sundance Festival earlier this year, it is set to be released on the 21st November.
Wake Up Dead Man: this third outing for Benoit Blanc is heading to cinemas from the 28th November and is certainly one of the darkest and gothic of the series to date. We were able to see the film as part of this year’s BFI London film festival . Once again, it has a starry cast and plenty of twists and turns that will keep you guessing right to the final minute.
