There are plenty of exciting films to look out for next year…Here’s a few of our picks!
Toy Story 5: having recently released a teaser trailer for the latest film in the series, Pixar’s beloved story set in the world of toys sees a new threat with the arrival of technology leaving Jessie and Buzz and the whole toy gang wondering what is next in store for them and if playtime is over? It is set to be released on the 19th June 2026.
Moana (live action): the beloved animated classic is being transformed into a live action film, which is set to be released on the 10th July 2026. The cast will see Catherine Laga’aia taking on the title role, with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role from the animated films as Maui.
Wuthering Heights: Emerald Fennell’s film adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel will be released next February, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in the central characters. Given the trailer, it is set to be a more sensual adaptation than perhaps fans of the original novel will expect.
Hamnet: this is a film that we can’t stop talking and thinking about since seeing it at the BFI London Film Festival . Based on Maggie O’Farell’s acclaimed book, Chloé Zhao’s film captures the spirit and beauty of the original story. Starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, it is set to finally be released in cinemas early next year!
The Odyssey: there is plenty of hype surrounding Christopher Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey, which will be released on the 17th July. The film is set to include an impressive cast, led by Matt Damon as Odysseus the king of Ithaca with performances also from Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway (Penelope), Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal.
The Devil Wears Prada 2: arriving on the 1st May, this long awaited sequel based on the characters from Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling novel is a great opportunity to see exactly Miranda, Andy and Emily are at in their lives…
The Bride!: from Maggie Gyllenhaal (Academy Award-nominated writer/director of The Lost Daughter) comes this new film that sees a lonely Frankenstein travelling to Chicago to ask for the assistance of scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion for him which then leads to chaos. The film stars Christian Bale as Frankenstein, Jessie Buckley as The Bride. It is set to be released on the 6th March.
Michael: this new musical biopic about the life and career of Michael Jackson is set to be released on the 24th April. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film stars Michael Jackson’s own nephew Jaafar Jackson as Michael himself!
